Tugboats
Physical Data
and Notes

by Dave Gillings.
June 3, 2006

Dive Notes:

Great Visibility for this dive. There was a thermocline at about 65 feet with water above at 80'F while below was 77'F. Map team GPSs barge and northern tug boat. Map team missed the middle tug, as it appears to have shifted to the east. Lin and Lois counted fish on middle tug after a re-drop from Capt. Ray put them right on it. Barge appeared to be intact, while the northern tug has the wheelhouse area collapsed into the center portion of the hull. Hull appears to be intact. We saw several large barracuda and many snook on this tugboat. Map team spent much of dive over the sand as we tried to locate the middle barge and the current drifted us to the north.
